4 Powerful Women To Help Inspire You Today

Throughout history, there are countless stories of women stepping up to fight for what they believe to be right and just. Here are a few of the most inspiring women in the history of the world:

YEOMAN LORETTA WALSH

As the first woman to ever enlist in the United States Navy, Loretta Perfectus Walsh has gone down in history as a true patriot. Born April 22, 1896, Walsh also carries the distinction of the first woman to be named as a chief petty officer. Walsh was only 21 when the country entered the battle of World War I and she officially joined the fight herself shortly before the U.S. involvement was made official on April 6, 1917.

DR. MARY EDWARDS WALKER

As the first and only woman in U.S. history to receive a coveted Medal of Honor, Walker will forever be remembered for her courage during the Civil War. Walker first made a name for herself when she left her private medical practice to volunteer during the war as a surgeon. Fighting for the Union, Walker was known as a staunch abolitionist and was once captured by the Confederate Army and accused of being a spy. Walker was also one of the pioneering leaders of the women's suffrage movement, known for her proclivity for dressing like a man in an effort to inspire others to be themselves and fight for what they believe is just.

MARIE CURIE

This Polish-French physicist was the first woman and only person to win the Nobel Peace Prize twice. Curie's most famous scientific research led to the patented theory of radioactivity along with the discovery of both radium and plutonium. These breakthrough scientific discoveries contributed to the development of X-rays, making Curie a pioneer and early adopter of modern medicine.

ROSA PARKS

Born February 4, 1913, Rosa Parks is one of the most-recognized figures of the U.S. civil rights movement. Parks rose to fame when she refused to move to the back of the bus during the Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott. The Easiest Natural Solutions For Skin

Healthy, glowing skin doesn’t happen overnight, and not without conscious effort. You must actively take care care of it. That being said, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on fancy products to get clearer, healthier skin. Here are 5 ways to take care of your skin simply and naturally.

Drink Plenty of Water

You’ve probably heard this before, and for good reason: staying hydrated is one of the most important tips for healthy skin. Even if you are mildly dehydrated, your skin can start to look saggy, loose, and dull. This becomes especially true as you age. If you avoid drinking water because you dislike the taste, try unsweetened herbal tea or sugar-free water flavoring drops. Avoid drinking high-sugar fluids like juice or soda often — these do more damage than good.

Eat Foods With Antioxidants

You can also get antioxidants from your diet. Not only do antioxidants reduce free radical damage, but they can also reduce inflammation. High levels of inflammation can cause wrinkles to form. Nuts, seeds, purple grapes, blueberries, kale, spinach, and dark chocolate are some noteworthy foods that are high in antioxidants. You can increase the benefits you get from antioxidant intake by pairing it with a redox supplement.

Limit Sun Exposure

Small amounts of sun exposure are beneficial because it helps your body produce vitamin D and boosts your mental health. However, large amounts of it can damage your skin. That is why you will need to limit your sun exposure. This also means wearing high SPF sunscreen if you plan to be outside for longer than 15 minutes during peak sun intensity hours (10am to 3 pm).

Use a Dry Brush

A dry brush can help exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation is the process of getting rid of dead skin cells. Dry brushing can eliminate toxins, reduce puffiness and improve circulation. Additionally, many people find the gentle pressure from the dry brush to be calming and reminiscent of a therapeutic massage. The optimal time to use use a dry brush is right before you get in the shower in the morning or at night, although if you can fit it in twice a day, all the better!

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a natural product that you can use on your skin. It has been used for years to help fight acne and inflammation. Tea tree oil can also reduce harmful bacteria. It is even said to be able to fight other skin blemishes.

Reduce Your Stress

If you have high levels of stress in your life, then this may be compromising your skin health. Unfortunately it’s impossible to completely eliminate stress. But you can reduce it by exercising, meditating, and doing yoga. You also need to make sure that you get the proper amount of rest.

If you want beautiful skin, you need to treat it right. Staying hydrated, eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, using sunscreen, dry brushing, and using tea tree oil are all natural ways to fight aging and dull skin. Your skincare routine should never be stressful. Do as much as you can, but only what works for you.

How To Make Your Daily Makeup Routine Faster

Considering that women are becoming increasingly busy, whether they’re working, raising families, or keeping up with daily routines, finding ways to save time is a constant struggle. Making the daily makeup routine faster, while still producing polished results, can go a long way for a busy woman. Here are some great tips for achieving a great look when time is short.

Use a Primer

Primer is a woman's best-kept secret. While it's not a product that many people notice, since it applies clear/skin-tone, primer makes a huge difference in the long run. Using primer helps hold all the products to the skin, making it last longer and saving you from needing to re-apply throughout the day. It works particularly well with liquid foundation and natural powder foundation, but it also works great with eyeshadows, bronzer, and others.

Use a Natural Liquid Foundation or BB Cream

One of the best ways to keep your look fresh, while also keeping your routine quick, is using liquid foundation. While MOVE foundation is a powder, you can easily apply it with water so you get a creamy consistency that soaks into your skin. This application technique will make your skin look lighter and help it glow. Unlike heavier products, liquid applications won't appear caked on or heavy—saving you from spending time fixing mistakes and having to even out your foundation periodically throughout the day.

Skip the Lipstick, Go for the Gloss

While most women believe that red lipstick makes their teeth look whiter and is a quick and classic trick, it's quite the opposite. Red lipstick is sticky, messy, and somehow always finds a way to leave a pink smear on your front teeth. Instead of checking your lips for smudges every 5 minutes, try using a pink or nude gloss. The gloss will make you look fresh-faced and polished, and you won't have to worry about the mess. Instead of the bright lipsticks, try a teeth whitening process, and then gloss over your lips before you go. Even better? You can slip your lip gloss right in your pocket and reapply in seconds--no mirror necessary. Check out these how-to videos for more instructions on applying lip gloss and other makeup on the go.
