Hello MOVE mavens and supporters! I wanted to share with you my latest TV appearance talking about holistic beauty.
I'm a regular beauty expert guest on KTHV Channel 11 in Little Rock and I generally talk about how you can best take care of your skin and approach beauty holistically. My belief is that with the right knowledge, you can learn to create your own skincare products - this is why I teach classes and share information about this. Makeup, however, is not so easy to make and feel confident that what you've made is good for your skin and body - which is why I created MOVE Makeup :). You can feel confident that MOVE Makeup is taking just as good care of your skin as your skincare products are.
Click on the picture below and learn why pumpkin makes a superb ingredient for a facial scrub!
Here are a few more points I didn't get to mention in the segment:
The naturally occurring enzymes in pumpkin work very similarly to alpha-hydroxy acids used in exfoliation systems. They work to gently slough off dead skin cells while pumpkin's beta-carotene rich antioxidant content nourishes and heals the skin.
The yogurt is high in lactic acid and honey locks in moisture and further helps to soften skin.
A smaller bath recipe is :
2 teaspoons pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons yogurt
1 tsp honey
2 tsp oatmeal
You can store this in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. To preserve it, try not to dip fingers into the scrub and instead us a spa spatula or spoon. Happy scrubbing!
